Umm Ahmed began her little home business Pink House Bakery & Catering one year ago here in Qatar. Having completed her studies in History and Mass communication along with a full time job she bakes with enthusiasm for her many different customers! While she has taken some basic lessons on butter cream and frosting , PME modeling and flower sugar, she learnt baking and the skills that goes with it by herself and started baking cakes from teenage years! Surely experience brings class and quality!

Today Pink House Bakery & Catering offers much more services than baking tasty cakes! Apart from taking orders for customized cakes, cupcakes, cake pops, cookies and deserts,
Umm Ahmed also makes some lovely invitation cards, themed cake toppers, and takes care of decorating your cake table or hall room for any special events.

When asked about finding the necessary ingredients and materials in Qatar, Umm Ahmed says, "It is difficult.. sometimes I cannot find most of my ingredients or supplies. So, I have to be creative to substitute for these missing items".

 

So who was her inspiration and what motivated her to start this little business?

"I always thought I can do more .. Also, my kids.. they do love my work and I feel they are proud of me.." says Umm Ahmed cheerfully! She also hopes to start her own bakery and shop one day in a larger scale to serve more.

 

Her advise to the fellow bakers who are beginners and looking to venture in to the same area.. "Always look for more..do not be satisfied in what you have accomplished. Search, learn and tutor, by then you will be successful".
