Exclusive collections to dazzle at the Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition 2015
Sneak-peeks from leading jewelers and popular designers in an array of over 500 exhibitors

Doha February 22, 2015:

Held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the State of Qatar and hosted by Qatar Tourism Authority, the 12th edition of the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition is ready to amaze visitors from February 24 until February 28, at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

This year, the collections to be displayed have some interesting points of inspiration.

Jaipur Gems & Diamantaires have appointed Tamara Gabbani as the Middle Eastern brand ambassador and collaborated with her to produce a special collection for the region’s sophisticated customers. Tamara is renowned throughout the region for her classical Middle Eastern beauty, her exquisite style and eye for fashion and her well-followed blog. Tamara’s inputs have resulted in a beautiful collection that captures the quintessence beauties of the region. Jaipur Gems and Diamantaires are inspired by royal styles and have been in the industry since 1974.

Renowned international jewellery brand Mouawad are returning to the 2015 event with dazzling collections, of which two new ones being Silhouette and  Source de Vie. Inspired by the ingenious precepts of geometry, Silhouette pays homage to the art of gemology with amazingly simple shapes of squares, circles, ovals and pears. Another new collection is the Source de Vie. Inspired by the delicate, almost ethereal Trillium blossom, which forms a stunning motif throughout exquisite settings, the Source de Vie collection is all about expressing the special exuberance of the Trillium’s floral purity and innocent joy. Style conscious women will find this enticingly pretty and feminine collection irresistibly chic and fabulously versatile. It has all the hallmarks of timeless elegance that can be handed down and enjoyed through generations.

American jewellery designer extraordinaire, David Webb, is also back at the show. Being displayed for the first time in the Middle East, visitors will view the heritage designs of David Webb as featured at the Norton Museum of Art’s retrospective show in Palm Beach, Florida. This year, Lalique and Al Fardan Jewellery will introduce the “Sun of Gaia” collection for the very first time in the Middle East, exclusively at the Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition. Lalique’s famous Art Nouveau and Art Deco signature styles reveal precious and very unique jewellery designs, now part of a collection of more than 200 jewellery pieces introduced since 2012.

To celebrate its 400th anniversary of the House of Medicis, Melleriodits Meller created a high jewellery collection inspired by Marie de Médicis, in which each piece is, in itself, a technical and stylistic innovation. These jewels fit the body, like the exceptional necklace that circles the neck, with openwork motifs that allow a glimpse of the skin beneath. It required a treasure trove of ingenuity and inventiveness to design novel links, springs and ways of fixing diamonds and rubies that ensure unrivalled beauty, comfort and flexibility in this master piece. The masterpiece incorporates 5085 diamonds (63.49 carats), 15 Burmese Mogok pigeon blood rubies (35.25 carats), 3 South Sea pearls, white gold and 4500 hours of work.

Doha’s pioneering and much loved lifestyle department store 51East has a brilliant spread of luxury jewellery and watch brands and their collections ready for the exhibition. In the watches category, Jaeger Le-Coultre, the world-famous watch maker will introduce its masterpiece Duomètre Sphérotourbillon Moon at the Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition 2015. This is the year that Jaeger Le-Coultre pays tribute to the age-old science of astronomy and this timepiece is a salute to the theme. Whether it comes to the effects of gravity on the earth, the discrepancy that creeps into the moon-phase indication, or the impact on a watch’s precision when a complication is activated, the Duomètre Sphérotourbillon Moon of Jaeger-LeCoultre invented its own solutions. The Duomètre Sphérotourbillon Moon expresses its strength of character through the realm of calendar-type horological complications. Equipped with a moon-phase display endowed with a reliability stemming from lengthy research, it embodies the age-old wisdom of traditional astronomy as well as the inventive power of Jaeger-LeCoultre.
