Qatar Motor Show 2015 enthrals visitors with premier launches, fun activities on its first day

Doha, Qatar, 6 February 2015:

The 5th edition of the Qatar Motor Show held under the patronage of H.E Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the State of Qatar opened on Thursday in Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). The inauguration ceremony was led by His Excellency Mr. Jassem Bin Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, the Minister of transport of the State of Qatar and His Excellency Mr. Issa Bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi, the Chairman of Qatar Tourism Authority in the presence of dignitaries, local and regional media. The exhibition will last until February 10, 2015. The first day of the show attracted a huge number of automobile aficionados and motorsports enthusiasts. World-class automobile brands participated in this year’s exhibition, including brands showcasing their models for the first time at the Qatar Motor Show.

A highly interactive platform, Qatar Motor Show 2015 gave an adrenalin rush to car fanatics who were present at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) on Friday. Apart from witnessing launches of some much awaited automobile brands in the region, visitors were thoroughly engaged and entertained with a plethora of auto related activities.

Leading automobile brands like Harley Davidson and Mercedes were among others to have organized exciting competitions that gave away exciting prizes.

Harley Davidson hosted a photo competition where participants were asked to share their picture of H.O.G. Qatar chapter under the hashtag #HOG_qatar_chapter. The most liked picture won special giveaways. Besides, NBK asked visitors to share their photo via Instagram under the hashtag #MercedesBenz_Qatar and win a surprise gift.

Nasser Bin Khaled Automobiles, the exclusive dealer of Mercedes-Benz in Qatar, displayed four of its wide range of cars including Maybach S Class, AMG GT S, CLA 250 and GLA 45 AMG in this year’s edition of Qatar Motor Show that captured the minds and hearts of the guests.

In addition, NBK unveiled the new Harley-Davidson Street™ 750, a new line to the 2015 assembly. Powered by a new Revolution X liquid cooled engine, a six speed transmission, specially tuned shocks and a frame and suspension made for tight turns and quick moves, it has been built to deal effortlessly with the urban gridlock. Simultaneously, Nasser Bin Khaled (NBK) Powered Sports announced its partnership with Husqvarna Motorcycle, the renowned Sweden motorcycle manufacturer.

The Audi sport stand theme featured the Audi S3, Audi S6 and Audi S7 as well as customer favourite, Audi Q5.

Porsche showcased the most powerful new Porsche Cayenne models. Boasting outstanding credentials for high-performance athleticism, the Cayenne GTS and Cayenne Turbo S are standout extensions of Porsche’s commitment to developing everyday sports cars. QNCC was also the first to host the Middle Eastern debut of the latest incarnation of a historic bloodline, the Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS. A very special fourth regional premiere thrilled audiences in the form of the Panamera Exclusive Series. Based on the Panamera Turbo S Executive the new model delivers a level of luxury and unique craftsmanship that is unrivalled in the automotive sector.

The Motorshow also saw Volkswagen Middle East unveil a more powerful Jetta with a 2.5litre engine. Additionally, the brand presented two dynamic concept cars – the extremely sporty Golf R 400 and the virtual super GTI Roadster, Vision Gran Turismo from the PlayStation 3 game “Gran Turismo 6”.
