Qatar Motor Show 2015 attracts more than 15,000 visitors in two days

Doha, Qatar, 7 February 2015: 

Considered to be one of the most significant motoring events in the Middle East region, the Qatar Motor Show 2015 continues to captivate discerning visitors that include local, regional and international citizens. The show exceeded all the expectations during the weekend which saw a huge crowd from all nationalities.

Co-hosted by the Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), q.media Events, and Fira de Barcelona, the show brings in top-notch automotive giants under one roof.

General Manager of q.media Events, Roger Abi Haider said: “This year’s edition of the motor show drew more than 15,000 visitors over the weekend. Besides exhibitors from the previous years, we have 7 new automotive and accessories brands participating in the exhibition.”

Special visitors included dignitaries and ambassadors who came on an unofficial visit to the show where some interesting interactive activities were carried out by the brands. In addition, there were several competitions on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram where winners received attractive prizes.

Apart from being able to get a glimpse of the enchanting machines and latest auto and performance trends showcased by world renowned automotive brands, visitors also got an opportunity to witness a line-up of eight vintage cars from 70’s such as Trans AM with a corvette engine outside the QNCC building. One of the cars was Audi Aztec which is a limited edition car with only 15 pieces in the world. What makes it unique is the signature of the Maserati CEO on its exterior. Organised by Mawater, an initiative of the Ministry of Youth & Sport of Qatar that attracts great events and activities in respect of motors, the vehicles left spectators in awe.

Another attraction of the show was the ‘One Second Campaign’, conducted by the Traffic Department where visitors above 16 years old could enjoy driving a 3D simulator in accordance with the Qatari traffic rules and regulations. Organised by the Ministry of Interior and sponsored by Maersk Oil Qatar, the activity fascinated a huge crowd.
