Highlights - Arabian Drag Racing League Round 1 - Day 1

The Arabian Drag Racing League Round 1 kicked off at the Qatar Racing Club. The astounding state of the art cars and bikes were adding glamour to the atmosphere while the incredible speed display was fascinating the spectators!

Competition is tough! Who would be the "King of Arabia"? What would be the best unbelievable Speed limit? All answers at Street 52!

Glamourous Automobile Event - Qatar Motor Show 2015

The prestigious event in the region is back this year too!

The Qatar Tourism Authority in partnership with q.media events and Fira Barcelona brings this colourful exhibition to Doha every year with the objective of providing a platform for the leading and most exciting international automobile brands to connect with the region's automobile aficionados and motor sports enthusiasts.

Year on year, the Qatar Motor Show has been attracting distinguished exhibitors from the prominent motor world as well as many enthusiastic visitors from over one hundred countries. Additionally leading brands use this opportunity to reveal their star models to the Middle East, thus shaping Qatar Motor Show to be one of the most successful automobile events in the region.

The fact that Qatar is well connected by air and with a state of the art world class airport facilities and a range of accommodation to suit every requirement, indeed makes it the best destination for this glamorous event.

This year the Qatar Motor Show 2015 will be held under the patronage of H.E Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior of the State of Qatar, at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).   • Rolls Royce, the ultimate luxury automobile will exhibit the exquisite limited edition Phantom Drophead Coupe Water Speed collection that has wowed the industry and premium automobile customers alike when it was introduced at the 2014 Paris Auto show.
  •  Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that it will conduct the Qatar launch of the GLA 45 AMG, AMG GT & CLA 250 and the regional launch of prestigious S-Maybach.
  • BMW  has three first Middle East reveals at the 5th edition of the Qatar Motor Show with the all new BMW X6M, BMW X5M and the all new Mini John Cooper Hatch.     
  • Audi, another reputable German brand, is presenting a new model which will make its global debut in mid-January at the Detroit Motor Show and then be transported to the Qatar Motor Show a few days later. Audi is also launching a new TT model for the region at the Qatar Motor Show. This model was launched globally in 2014 but hasn't debuted in the Middle East yet. 
  • The iconic British prestige automobile brands Jaguar with its all new XE and the Land Rover with its Range Rover Sports SVR, are debuting here for the Middle East market. The XE is said to be the lightest, stiffest and the most aerodynamic Jaguar ever built and visitors at the Qatar Motor Show 2015 can get a close look at this aluminium intensive model. The Range Rover SVR is particularly exciting as the first of its series of high performance models to come from both, Jaguar and Land Rover.
  • Italian superstar brand Lamborghini will show the Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 at the 2015 Qatar Motor Show, celebrating the super sports car’s success both in the Middle East and worldwide since its launch in 2014.The ten-cylinder model Lamborghini Huracán debuted at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, with more than 3,300 orders collected worldwide for the new model by the end of last year.

Qatar International Endurocross Championship - Round 2

Qatar International Endurocross Championship Round 2 will be held this Saturday at Sealine.

According to the organizers Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation Enduro off-road races are designed to test the endurance and off-road riding skills of the rider.

Each race will be run over a mix of different types of desert terrain and will last for 30 minutes plus 1 lap. The motorcycles will run together with the quads.

Arabian Drag Racing League - Round 1

Known to be the best and the biggest motorsport event in Qatar, The Arabian Drag Racing League is back!

Watch the fastest cars and bikes competing in 11 different categories to win the prestigious title  "King of Arabia" at the end of the three rounds!

According to the organizers: "The fastest cars of its kind in ADRL can push out around 4000 BHP and tend to be turbocharged or Supercharged, these cars will go over 200 mph in less than 4 seconds! Making it the fastest motorsport on earth". So get ready for a thrilling performance!

Round - 1 will be held this week. Here are the details!

Friday 30th January 2015 - 1pm to 8pm

Entrance is free for the public but spectators are required to register for free here and get their tickets. Tickets will also be issued at the gates on the days of the event. Gates will open for the public at 2pm on both days.

Children will get to enjoy some play time at designated play area with bouncy castles and slides. Food and drink will also be available! All in all great entertainment for the whole family! Keep the dates free and enjoy!

Colour Play with Crochet & Clay - N Studio

Playing with colours is something natural but expounding and producing that vibrant form in crochet and clay is challenging!



Noorul Firdhouse is skillful in crocheting and in shaping terracotta jewellery here in Qatar for the last two years, and enjoys playing around with colours in crochet and clay!

She always desired to produce her own unique piece of accessories and this led her to explore the world of crochet and terracotta jewellery and now is the proud owner of her own little handmade space N Studio! Noorul has been following some basic courses to enhance her skills but she learnt almost everything through tutorials online in pursuing her interest. Crocheted Earrings, Kokeshi Dolls, Baby Capes, Cute bags, Baby Blankets are some of her specialities in crocheting.

Terracotta is a reddish clay that is used for many creative projects. Moulding, shaping, designing, baking and bringing forth different exclusive range of jewellery of dynamic colours is something passionately done at N Studio which of course makes it special! Noorul uses natural clay and prefers using the traditional baking method which is done using natural materials such as coconut shells and saw dust.

Highlights - QSBK Round 4

Qatar Super Bikes Championship Round 4 was held last weekend at the Losail International Circuit. This Championship is organized by Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) headed by Mr. Nasser Khalifa al Attiyah who is indeed rendering an invaluable service to racing in Qatar.

There are seven rounds and the points obtained in each race will count towards the Qatar SuperBike Championship.

Round 4 on Saturday saw a thrilling finish. Australian rider Anthony West won both races of the day and Alex Cudlin finished in second position in both races and the Qatari rider Mishal Al Naimi finished third.

In the other category Saudi rider Abdulaziz Bin Ladin won with  Fahad Al Sowaidi and Mahmmod Tannir finished second and third respectively.

Hungarian female rider Victoria Kis won the first race of the day and Shelina Moreda from the United States of America won the second race in the female race.

We congratulate all winners and applaud all participants for the healthy performance.

The next round for Qatar Superbike is on the 6th and 7th March.

The big guys did well too at the Losail MX Round 3 last Saturday inspiring the younger ones and competing with thrill and adventure!


Motocross is a popular sport and Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation headed by the ever enthusiastic Mr. Nasser Khalifa al Attiyah is providing a great exposure, encouragement and entertainment for not only the Qatari Riders and fans but for the entire regional and international riders as well.


Jake Shipton, Jake Preston, Mohammed Jaffar, Ryan Blair, Barak Al Jasmi and Moaath Al Ansari were the winners for different categories. Congratulations to all of them.

Highlights - Losail Junior Motocross Championship - January

Losail MX - Junior

Last Saturday Losail MX Championship was colourful with little guys entertaining at the Junior Motocross.

The idea of this off road motorcycle racing first originated in the United Kingdom from motorcycle trials competitions. This is a physically demanding sport held in different weather conditions all over the world,


Watching the little guys performing at Losail last weekend was indeed a pleasure and to see them taking that high leap and flying effortlessly was something that our team could not resist capturing!

The 13 years old Australian rider Nicholas Kefford won both races in his category of the MX Junior. Congratulations to him and well done to all of the little races.

This class will introduce painting with gouache colors, potentials for this material, through teaching gouache color technique, how to apply, mix and blend colors , how to draw with brush strokes.  During the class students will see many examples of paintings and get to choose and copy two pieces, which will help them to see the values of the colors and relation between colors and object.

Ceramic Mosaics can transform an ordinary object into a colorful, shiny and unique, long lasting piece of art.


Bring an Object that you want to transform, you will get tiles and grout in class.

In this course you will create your own design and draw it on an object of your choice (a tray, a box, a vase, a jar, a mug or a frame – the choice is yours). You select the colors of tiles and grout in accordance with your theme and then start to have fun pasting the tiles on your object and grouting the joints. Discover the beauty of your piece while cleaning it from excess grout.

Creative Event Design for Personal Occasions - February

VCUQatar is offering Creative Event Design for Personal Occasions classes this spring. These classes are for ladies only and ages 18 and above.

Participants will learn about the various elements of event design as well as how to come up with unique creative ideas for any personal occasion.

They will create their own theme for their personal events through research and brainstorming as well as designing all the elements in class in a workshop format. Participants will tap into the different kinds of personal occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, baby showers, engagements, family gatherings, surprises and more.

Along with designing their items for their themes, participants will delve into the world of flowers where they will learn how to design centerpieces, corsages, as well as add flowers on objects. The course is fun and interactive where they will experience out of the box thinking! They will also present to their fellow participants their themes and bounce ideas. No matter what their background is, participants can design their items in the way they feel comfortable, either manually or using any design software.

  • DIY (Do It Yourself) Design technique to be used for one or more design item

  • Impromptu Day: A competition between participants to create ideas for one challenging event theme

  • Basics of flowers and how to prepare your floral decoration (with Nikola Mery)
  • Complimenting flowers with your theme and color scheme (with Nikola Mery)
  • Designing your floral piece for the final table set up presentation (with Nikola Mery)
