VCUQatar is
offering Painting with Oil Bars and Mixed Media classes this spring. Participants
must buy their own materials and bring along. Payment can be made online here or visit the VCUQatar shop in-person
registration.

Oil bars are
smooth and velvety oil paints in stick form. We will work with them by applying
with a soft cloth on paper. You will learn how to build in layers, creating
designs and patterns and we will combine stenciling, printing, transfer
technique and collage.

- Introduction to all materials and tools and view a variety of oil bar examples. Exercise on paper with oil bars
- Continue working by preparing and using stencils
- Add image transfers from newspapers and photocopies
- Add prints from foam stamp designs
- Add collage elements and complete your artworks
